Throughout my time recording at my home studio ive come across an encyclopedia of amount of tips & tricks on mixing down your vocals. Here are some links that will help you further your knowledge on mixing..
Some of the newest tricks of the trade for me watching tutorial on youtube on any program out there! This will get you ahead of the game. Something else I learn in recording over the years. I use to work at EMI music publishing in the soundtrack division and the program they used was similar to the programs I have been using over the years They were using WAV LAB.. I was like dammmmmmmm major musi publishing company open since 1908 british founded which own mostly all of America's music in some way shape and form since EMI owns capitol(,BMI=blackwood, ASCAP=april music behind the scene at least what my checks say), motown rights and ect... I use ACID myself and soundforge and the quality is on that of pro tools on lower economic scale and fruityloops is my second
I use cooledit pro before and that is something they used to in the soundtrack division so keep it up with that again cant stress it enough
youtube tutorial with any program you using out there somebody is a master at it and there is a video to watch
