- Growing up in los angeles during these times was hard due to the growing population and influence of the differnent gangs.
Joe entered la tijera junior high talent contest and won 2 years in the row break dancing and pop locking.
La tijera junior high is the school where the movie wood was centered around and also the passing me by video of pharcyde.
Well after djig the junior high dances and upon entering high school joe became a skilled hip hop choreographer for girl dance groups and playing football and basketball at st.
Bernard high another school portrayed in the movie wood.
Joe became good at rocking the mic at dances and decided to write poetry and started out as dj &break dancer in early breakdance era in los angeles in early 90's.
Joe even joined la breakers and a trendy dance group called godfathers.
Soon college was a approaching and being that joe was athletic he chose to go off to college during early 90's.
Also during this period there was a group called pharcyde forming and they were at the same stuido joe was hanging out with in inglewood on la cienega.
Joe had three choices either stay in la at this studio and hope he becomes a rapper or go on tour with gap band and dance in japan or basketball in kansas.
Joe chose kansas.
All this happened during 1989-1994.
In 1998 joe transfered to las vegas where he started to take music serious even though it has always been in his life.
By 1999 in las vegas joe rented out a club called boomers where he had open mic night on sundays! This inspired joe by 1998 to move back home to los angeles and put out some alternative hip hop from the core of someone who has experienced the westcoast flow from my eyes! I represent hawthorne/inglewood( the suburbs of los angeles, california). I became Mic Checker on Dope Tracks but always been JOE BIONIC!
